Droughts affect millions worldwide every year, leading to severe impacts on livelihoods, economies, and ecosystems. However, the vulnerability to drought varies significantly, with marginalized groups—including women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly—often bearing the brunt of these impacts.

This online course aims to address these challenges by empowering participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) into national drought management planning. By focusing on the unique needs of vulnerable groups, this course will help ensure that drought management strategies are more inclusive and equitable.

This course is specifically designed for professionals, technicians, and decision-makers from relevant ministries, research institutes and national institutions involved in drought management planning.

This course is a joint effort of the  FAO, Global Water Partnership (and its regional offices for Central and Eastern Europe and Southern Africa), and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
